With this guitar, serial # 15 216705, we present to you one of our most stunning pieces. This is a custom ordered, Artist Package, Singlecut Hollowbody II in Azul blue, in new condition. There isn't a visible wood surface on this instrument that isn't highly figured maple, even inside the F-holes! The pattern carve neck is has retained its natural finish, which leaves is as smooth as a baby's bottom.

2015 Singlecut Hollowbody II Artist Pkg

David's Notes: Behold one of the most gorgeous guitars that has ever passed through my doors. Flat out, this is among most amazing guitars that I've ever played... and I cannot stop playing it! The Singlecut body shape not only embodies the ultimate all-purpose acoustic, but also the user friendliness of the much beloved Les Paul electric. This instrument is warm and resonant, yet articulate. Hard to believe, I know, due to the 95% figured maple construction (only the sides are mahogany). About that maple! Almost every surface displays the very tight, straight pattern of highly figured flamed maple that is only found in rare places such as Paul's exotic wood library at PRS. Even through the f-holes one can see the flame pattern on the instrument's interior!

Now let's address the electronics. Part of the specifics of this custom build was replacing the stock Hollowbody II 58/15s with more traditional 57/08s, which are still the most well-rounded PRS pickup in my opinion. Augmenting those magnetic pickups is the LR Baggs Piezo system, consisting of the piezo pickups under the bridge saddles as well as the on-board pre-amp and dual output jack panel. Lastly, an additional micro switch and blend knob round out the controls. This system is epic! It turns the Hollowbody II into two guitars in one with both being able to be played at the same time, whether bi-amping or not!. Obviously, the best use of the system is bi-amping, running one cable to a tube amp and one to an acoustic amp. That said, the magnetic pickup jack is a stereo jack which carries a blended signal from both pickups until such time as you plug in a second cable to the dedicated piezo jack. Thus, through a single cable and quality amp, one can still get both acoustic and distorted tones.

This instrument is an absolute keeper that I purchased for myself. On 9.17.2016 my wife and I met Paul at a workshop held at Righteous Guitars in Atlanta where I had Paul sign this guitar for me. It is now part of our permanent collection, though it rarely gets played.
